Immediate Surgical Treatment of the Rhinogenic Focus of Infection Is Required

[摘要] Orbital cellulitis is rarely seen in everyday clinicalpractice. But as it is potentially dangerous, it certainlymerits attention from the entire medical profession (1).The symptoms need to be described correctly, however:Orbital cellulitis is a serious and actually lifethreatening condition that can develop as a complication of purulent sinusitis. As the extreme form of theso-called orbital complication, it will have to be urgently and immediately tackled once it manifests, andhas to be treated with surgery of the rhinogenic focus ofinfection and orbital decompression, in order to mitigate the threat to life.
