A tribute to Professor Adam Boratyński: an eminent Polish botanist and scholar

[摘要] This issue of Plant and Fungal Systematics includesnine papers dedicated to Professor Adam Boratyńskithat reflect his scientific interests. Professor Adam Boratyński is a broadly recognized scientist and a distinguishedprofessor. His contributions to dendrology span multiplefields of inquiry, including biology, ecology, evolution,and biogeography, especially from Mediterranean areas ofEurope, Asia, and Africa. Professor Boratyński was bornon September 24, 1948 in Syców (Lower Silesia), Poland.In 1972, he graduated from the Poznań University ofLife Sciences, where he completed his PhD in 1979, andearned habilitation in 1992.
