An Introduction to Phase Separation in Cell Biology

[摘要] Phase transitions in cells provide a wonderful arena for investigationby students of physics, chemistry, and biology tocome together to apply their foundational knowledge. In thisarticle, we provide an intuitive approach to the basic physicalprinciples of phase separation. We then highlight severalexamples that illustrate how the cell, the fundamental unit oflife, makes use of phase separation to organise its contents.
