Patient involvement via videoconference at the morbidity and mortality (M&M) meeting during COVID-19

[摘要] The development of online meetings andinnovative online patient and public involvement (PPI) increased in the last decade, butthe COVID-19 pandemic pushed healthcare delivery towards remote solutions morerapidly.1 This may be seen as a logistical, technical as well as a cultural shift.2Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, onlineprogrammes and tools have been developedto guide healthcare professionals in setting upvideo consultations.3 Healthcare professionalsmay benefit from requiring knowledge andskills of digital technology, ethics of onlinecommunication and specific communicationcompetences.4 Barriers may arise for patientswith unfamiliarity with the technology used(often elderly patients), low hearing or vision, orpatients who require more emotional support.
