Impact of COVID-19 pandemic control measures on infection of other respiratory pathogens: A real-world data research in Guangzhou, China

[摘要] The spread of the coronavirus disease2019 (COVID-19) caused by a highlycontagious severe acute respiratorysyndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) in2020 put a heavy burden on the medicalsystem worldwide and has consequentlychanged our lifestyle.[1,2] The COVID-19infection was unprecedented, which causedpeople to be easily infected at the onsetof the outbreak. Then, through pandemicprevention policy and heightened socialdistancing, the spread of the disease wasgradually prevented.[3,4] However, do thepandemic prevention actions toward SARSCoV-2 have implications on the infectionrate of other respiratory pathogens suchas adenovirus (ADV), respiratory syncytialvirus (RSV), and parainfluenza virus (PIV).
