Antibiotic stewardship: Dead bugs do not mutate
[摘要] One of the greatest advances in medicinein the last century has been to identifythe mechanism of damage and have thetools to intervene in a prompt fashion. The use of fibrinolysis in both acutemyocardial infarction (AMI) and stroke hassignificantly improved patients’ outcomes.[1]Time is life, golden hour, and so on arenow terms that have saved many lives. Inpatients with sepsis, the complexity arises;signs and symptoms are often nonspecific, and consequently, early identification is achallenge to overcome as the mortality ratesare higher than AMI or stroke. For instance, septic shock is characterized by low bloodpressure that does not improve after fluidreplacement compared to an anterior AMIwhere chest pain and electrocardiographychanges are manifested.
