Hydrogel: A promising new technique for treating Alzheimer’s disease
[摘要] Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disease that seriously affectshuman health. Currently, there are onlyfive drugs approved by the Food andDrug Administration (FDA) for thetreatment of AD (donepezil, galantamine, rivastigmine, tacrine, and memantine).[1]These drugs can only improve the symptomsof AD patients, but cannot delay or reversethe progression of the disease.[1] Amongthem, tacrine is delisted because of moreserious side effects. Aducanumab, the onlyrecently approved drug currently expectedas a potential treatment for AD,[2] remainscontroversial. Therefore, research anddevelopment of effective drugs for thetreatment of AD has become a hotspot ofcurrent AD research.
