The potential role of the brain–gut axis in the development and progression of Alzheimer's disease
[摘要] Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a classicchronic progressive degenerative diseaseof the central nervous system (CNS).Although the pathogenesis of AD remainsunclear, several molecular mechanismshave been proposed in view of the majorneuropathological features, including theabnormal increase in amyloid-b (Ab),excessive phosphorylated tau proteins, imbalance in Ca2+ homeostasis, oxidativestress, imbalance in neurotransmitters, and brain atrophy.[1] However, none ofthe above mechanisms by itself elucidatesall the histopathologic and multifactorialmolecular changes described in AD.
