Monkeypox: Clinical issues of concern
[摘要] Monkeypox is a zoonotic disease causedby the monkeypox virus from the genusOrthopoxvirus. Monkeypox infections areoften caused by the spillover from animalsinto human populations. The virus isinfectious and can also spread amonghumans through close contact.[1] Sincethe first case of human infection withmonkeypox virus was detected in the 1970s,multiple outbreaks have been reported in 11African countries, with few global eventsdetected. However, the recently identifiedglobal outbreak of monkeypox has no clearlink to Africa. On May 29, 2022, the WorldHealth Organization raised a moderateglobal public health concern because of theongoing monkeypox outbreak. As of June12, 2022, at least 1548 human monkeypoxcases in 46 countries have been confirmedor suspected.
