Migrainous headaches, calcified cysticercosis and breakthrough seizures

[摘要] Neurocysticercosis is the infection of the central nervous system and its coverings by the larval stage (cysticercus) of Taenia solium, the pork tapeworm. Parasites maylodge in brain parenchyma, subarachnoid space, ventricularsystem or spinal cord, causing a myriad of pathologicalchanges that are responsible for the clinical pleomorphismof this disease. While epilepsy is the most common clinicalpresentation of neurocysticercosis, more than one-thirdof patients present with headache as the single or mostimportant manifestation of the disease.
