Psychogenic astasia-abasia: A case of unsteady gait

[摘要] Falls remain common health problems that our elderly population has to face in their daily life,contributing significantly to their morbidity. Patients with astasia-abasia should be recognized promptlythough it is uncommon in Singapore. We report a case of a middle-aged lady who presented withpsychogenic astasia-abasia. We will illustrate this case with the exhibition of a video showing hergait pre- and post-interventions. Consent was obtained from the patient. Our patient received a multidisciplinary level of care, including physiotherapy and psycho-education with good response. Weperformed a non-systematic literature review and we hereby review its description and management.
