Esa Österberg (22 June 1948 – 26 September 2021)

[摘要] In 1973, economist Esa Österberg wasemployed by the Finnish Social ResearchInstitute for Alcohol Studies. He was recruitedto collect data for national and international purposes on various indicators related to alcoholpolicy. Esa’s career spanned over four and ahalf decades. Only he and Robin Room havecontributed to the entire chain of publicationswhich started with Kettil Bruun et al. (Alcoholcontrol policies in public health perspective,1975) and was expanded, deepened andupdated by Griffith Edwards et al. (Alcoholpolicy and the public good, 1994) andThomas Babor et al. (Alcohol: No ordinarycommodity, 1st edition 2004, 2nd edition 2010,3rd edition 2021).
