Assessing liver fibrosis without biopsy in patients with HCV or NAFLD

[摘要] Staging of liver fi brosis is increasingly done using noninvasive methods, in some cases obviating the need forliver biopsy. Scores based on laboratory values and demographic variables have been developed and validated forassessing fi brosis in patients with hepatitis C virus (HCV)infection and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), ashave several imaging methods that measure shear-wavevelocity, a refl ection of fi brosis severity.
