Haglund’s syndrome: a case description
[摘要] Haglund’s syndrome is a common cause of heel painthat remains poorly understood in the clinic. Haglund’sdeformity specifically refers to a bony bump (Haglund’slesion) of the posterosuperior calcaneus. It is also commonlyknown as ‘retrocalcaneal exostosis’ and ‘pump bump’, termswhich were first coined by Patrick Haglund in 1928 (1).Haglund’s syndrome refers to a series of symptoms causedby impingement of Haglund’s deformity, bursa, and Achillestendon. It is difficult to differentiate between Haglund’ssyndrome and other causes of heel pain. Imageology isof great value in the diagnosis of Haglund’s syndrome.Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can determine the site, extent, and severity of heel pain and assist with identifyingthe etiology due to its superior soft tissue contrast andmultiplanar imaging, which is of great significance inguiding clinical diagnosis and treatment. Here, we reporta case of a patient with Haglund’s syndrome, including thefollow-ups after surgical treatment.
