A newly recorded species from Japan, Venonia spirocysta (Araneae: Lycosidae)

[摘要] A species of the family Lycosidae,Venonia spirocysta Chai 1991, is reported from Japanfor the first time. The specimens of the species werecollected from Tarama-jima Island, Okinawa Prefecture. The genus Venonia is also newly recorded fromJapan, but since the generic placement of V. spirocystais problematic, this species may be transferred to another genus in the future.
