Metastatic Hepatocellular Carcinoma: Presentation in a Rare Site
[摘要] Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a commonmalignancy showing extra-hepatic metastasesin 30-50% of the patients at the time ofdiagnosis. However, Patients presenting withmetastatic hepatocellular carcinoma are rareand soft tissue metastases in head and neckarea are extremely rare.We report a 54-year-old man presenting withhoarseness of voice and a neck lump.Radiological impression was of a laryngealcarcinoma with local infiltration. Fine NeedleAspiration Cytology (FNAC) revealed aneoplastic lesion, with the incisional biopsyconfirming a metastatic hepatocellularcarcinoma. A primary HCC was discoveredsubsequently. Although cytological featuresare those of HCC, this case highlights thediagnostic dilemma due to its rare metastaticlocation.
