Perceptual optimization of stereo width shrinkage method in headphone reproduction
[摘要] Recently, immersive audio has become one of the hottest issues in the aspects of both research and commercial products [1–3]. Earphone and headphone reproductions are widely used for virtual reality and augmented reality systems. Most legacy audio sources, however, assume 2-ch loudspeaker reproduction. The spatial impression cannot be naturally reproduced through headphone and earphone when the stereo audio source is produced assuming stereo loudspeaker reproduction. Loudspeaker reproduction can be simulated by binaural rendering with head-related impulse responses (HRIRs), but the HRIRs involve listeners’ individuality. It is also known that the HRIRs recorded using head and torso simulators deteriorate localization performance.
