Explaining the Antecedents Vaginismus and Dyspareunia Disorder in Women: A Qualitative Study
[摘要] Background and Objectives vaginismus and Dyspareunia disorders is important issue in the field of painbecause this type of pain is part of emotional behaviors in marital relationships such as sexual intimacyand vaginal intercourse. The aim of the present study was to investigate the antecedents that lead to theexperience of vaginismus and Dyspareunia in women.Methods This study was conducted with a qualitative approach and using the method of contractualcontent analysis with inductive method. 9 female participants with vaginismus and Dyspareunia wereselected by purposive sampling method and continued to saturate. After data collection, all interviewswere implemented and reviewed and the main components were extracted. First, the semantic unitswere identified and then turned into psychological expressions. Finally, the general structure was determinedand combined.Results In general, thirteen predictive categories were identified using research data analysis. Accordingly,the preceding categories of this experience include incorrect family sex education, incorrect religiousattitude, sexual abuse, phobia, fatigue, lack or insufficiency of sexual awareness, sexual disorders of thespouse, psychological disorders of the spouse, fear of pregnancy, Lack of foreplay, suppression of sexualdesire, previous failed marriage and viewing pornographic images.Conclusion The results of this study enrich the previous research literature on the antecedents of thelived experience of vaginismus and dyspareunia. Also, the structure of living experience of vaginismusand Dyspareunia extracted in this study is widely used to develop and implement prevention and treatmentprograms for this disorder.
