Electrical conductivity of iron in Earth?s core from microscopic Ohm?s law
[摘要] Understanding the electronic transport properties of iron under high temperatures and pressures is essential for constraining geophysical processes. The difficulty of reliably measuring these properties under conditions prevalent in the Earth's core calls for first-principles methods that can support diagnostics. We present results on the electrical conductivity obtained by simulating the microscopic Ohm's law using time-dependent density functional theory and place them in the context of recent experimental measurements.
