[摘要] This volume is the first of a two volume report entitled 'A Geological Background for Planning and Development in Wigan' that presents the results of a project commissioned by the Department of the Environment. The purpose of the project was to provide concise, accessible advice on the relevance of geological conditions in the Wigan area to land use planning and development and also to provide a regional context for site investigation. The project commenced in September 1992 and was completed in June 1995.
