The secret life of sperm

[摘要] Biologists had long assumed that sperm contribute little to an embryo bar the father's genes. Fault sperm could be the cause of a significant number of miscarriages. In many species the whole sperm enters the egg and deliver proteins and other molecules to the egg. Human sperm can contain 3,000 different kinds of messenger RNA, some of which are coded for early embryo development. It still remains unclear what the transferred RNA does.
