Pall hangs over desert's future as alien weeds fuel wildfires
[摘要] Pennisetum ciliare and Brassica tournefortii are alien species of invading weed that are responsible for the increasing wildfire problem in the Sonoran Desert, Arizona. Native species such as the saguaro cactus are under threat as it can take decades for these to grow back due to competition. Pennisetum ciliareis now on the list of prohibited species which means the transportation of this plant and seeds is banned.
