Antarctic ice puts climate predictions to the test
[摘要] A record of greenhouse gases spanning the past 650,000 years has made headlines around the globe. Researchers from the European Project for Ice Coring in Antarctica sampled air bubbles preserved inside a 3,000-metre ice core drilled at Dome C in eastern Antarctica. The data show previous fluctuations in levels greenhouse gases in unprecedented detail and proves that the levels of carbon dioxide and methane totally outstrip those of the preindustrial era.
