Incompressibility Accelerated Collision Detection and Resolution For Deformable Bodies

[摘要] Accelerating the collision resolution procedure between multiple interacting elastically deformable bodies continues to be one of the most computationally challenging aspects of their simulation. One such acceleration process was introduced by [McAdams et al. 2009] for simulating complex hair interaction. Our approach uses this method for an arrangement of elastically deformable pieces of cloth by preconditioning the configuration using an Eulerian volumetric coupled response, prior to the Lagrangian collision resolution algorithm. The volumetric approach handles bulk responses to collisions while the fine level details are accounted for by the Lagrangian self collision particle based methods.
