Review of Synthetic Methods to Form Hollow Polymer Nanocapsules

[摘要] Syntactic foams have grown in interest due to the widened range of applications because of their mechanical strength and high damage tolerance. In the past, hollow glass or ceramic particles were used to create the pores. This paper reviews literature focused on the controlled synthesis of hollow polymer spheres with diameters ranging from 100 ???200 nm. By using hollow polymer spheres, syntactic foams could reach ultra-low densities.
