Writing and developing a play: from initial idea to final draft & Roses on the wire

[摘要] Writing and Developing a Play: From Initial Idea to Final Draft is a critical essay that explores the creation of a full-length play in the context of the MPhil (B) Playwriting Studies course. The essay looks at such aspects as the use of dramaturgical elements, including character, language, and time and space; cultural and historical research; identifying and solving creative problems; and justifying creative decisions. The essay is then followed by the full-length play written by me for the course, Roses on the Wire.
