Alpha clustering in the ground state of neutron rich light nuclei
[摘要] An experiment was conducted at the GSI Helmholtz Centre for Heavy Ion Research in Darmstadt, Germany, using the R\(^3\)B experimental setup. This included an array of double sided silicon strip detectors and a 4\(\Pi\) array of NaI scintillator detectors surrounding the target, a bending magnet and downstream fragment detectors consisting of scintillating fibre detectors and a plastic scintillator time of flight wall. Cross sections have been measured for the breakup of \(^{7,9-12}\)Be and \(^{8,10-15}\)B on proton and \(^{12}\)C targets at beam energies between 260 and 540 MeV per nucleon. These cross sections have been analysed with a focus on comparison to cluster model theory. In the context of a large collaboration and an experiment with diverse physics objectives, it is worth clarifying the author's contribution to the work presented. The author participated in running the experiment, calibrated the Silicon Strip Detectors and performed all the analysis discussed in this thesis.
