Nonlinear behavior of reinforced concrete structures under seismic excitation
[摘要] Exploring nonlinear behavior of structures through structural analysis software can be time and computer processing intensive especially with complicated structural models. This paper will explore the nonlinear behavior of a reinforced concrete structure with varying damping conditions that will experience a number of earthquakes at varying intensities. In the effort to produce a more accurate representation of the structural behavior, the building will be designed based on modem design codes. Ultimately, this approach aims to define a range in which engineers can use a linear approximation to determine certain performance metrics like interstory drift and floor accelerations.
