Alkali silicate protective coatings

[摘要] The work has developed compositions of coatings based on alkali silicate. The influence of the composition of the mixtures on the drying process, resistance to temperature changes, the characteristics of the coating (adhesion, time and degree of drying, solubility in water) were studied. It has been established that the replacement of liquid glass with sodium metasilicate in the composition of the coating improves the characteristics of the coatings.
