Charles Dickens' contribution to the social novel: 1836-1850

[摘要] This thesis examines the social conditions and history in the nineteenth century, reviews Dickens’ major publications, 1836-1850, analyses the defects in social conditions as Dickens viewed them, and asses his philosophy.
