Scientific advancements in analysis of solar oscillation data
[摘要] The main content of this thesis discusses extensive new software designed to improve the quality of long timeseries produced using data from the Birmingham Solar Oscillations Network.This includes an analysis of the effects of rejecting bad data, and seven different algorithms for merging data from overlapping stations. Methods for checking the relative timing between stations are discussed. Also included is a brief history of the Birmingham Network, and a description of the resonant scattering spectrometers used by the group along with a discussion on the standard calibration for converting from raw data to velocity residuals.
