The rise and progress of euphism in English literature

[摘要] This thesis looks at the structural and ornamental aspects of euphuism as a rhetorical device. The influences of Italy and Spain are analysed, as well as its native influences. Chapters include the progenitors of Euphues and the sources of Lyly. The progress of euphuism and its influences on English literature are explored.
