Elimination of parity doubled states from Regge amplitudes
[摘要] The common belief that fermions lying on linear Regge trajectoriesmust have opposite-parity partners is shown to be false. The mechanism by which these experimentally nonexistant states areeliminated from the theory depends on the presence of fixed Reggecuts in fermion exchange amplitudes. Thus it is predicted thatfermion Regge trajectories are always accompanied by fixed Reggecuts. More generally, if particles may be classified as compositesof spin-1/2 (fermion) quarks, fixed cuts are expected to be presentin boson exchange amplitudes as well. This result is demonstratedin the framework of the Van Hove model and a few further experimentalconsequences are discussed.
