High-Energy Nucleon Compton Scattering

[摘要] The high-energy nucleon Compton scattering process is studied to second order in the electromagnetic coupling constant from the viewpoint of complex angular momenta. Assuming the validity of the Regge hypothesis about the asymptotic behavior of scattering amplitudes, formulae for total and differential cross sections in the forward and backward directions are derived. Residues of Regge poles in their physical regions are estimated on the basis of existing experimental data. The implications of possible Regge cuts are discussed.
