Spatial analysis: Mapping potential land for sustainable urban forests using Landsat-TM satellite data imagery in East Jakarta

[摘要] This paper discusses the development of urban forest areas in eastern Jakarta to encourage sustainable urban development and socio-economic environment balance. This research aims to calculate the urban forest area needs in sub-district of Makasar, Ciracas and Cakung sub-districts, East Jakarta. The method used is to calculate index of urban forest area requirement (Indeks Luas Hutan Kota / ILHK) with Marshal Edgewarth method approach. The potential land mapping using Landsat-TM satellite image data is further processed through spatial allasis using Geographic Information System (GIS). The results of this research indicate the existence of sufficient land potential and can function ecologically as urban forests, and able to be a driver for sustainable urban development.
