An Eocene Bittacus (Mecoptera)

[摘要] In 1928 I described, asPalaeobittacus eocenicus, aspecies of the family Bittacidae from Eocene strata inColorado. This has been the only representative of theMecoptera in Eocene deposits and the earliest unquestionablerecord of a living family of the order. A secondEocene bittacid has now turned up, this time among anextensive collection of insects which Dr. Carl Parsonsand I made nearly twenty years ago in Utah. I appearsto be a true Bittacus with characteristic wing venationand body features
