A New Genus and Species of Coniopterygidae (Neuroptera) From New Mexico

[摘要] A single male specimen of an undescribed genus of Coniopterygidaewas collected in a blacklight trap in Las Cruces. NewMexico. The specimen keys out to the genusHelicoconisEnderleinof the subfamily Aleuropteryginae in Meinander's (1972) key, butgenitalic studies show the need for a new generic designation. Becausethe genitalia of this new genus differ from all known generaof Coniopterygidae, it is difficult to make comparisons, but fordescriptive purposes, the genitalia are compared to those ofHelicoconis.The structures referred to here as ectoprocts are probablyequivalent to the ectoprocts ofHelicoconisbut may representother structures.
