Benefits of Using Decorrelated Color Information forFace Segmentation/Tracking

[摘要] We analyze in this paper the benefits that can bederived from employing color image alignment techniques in thecontext of face segmentation or tracking based on texture (definedas the patch of intensities) template matching. By making fulluse of the decorrelated color information, improvements on theaccuracy of the segmentation are demonstrated. This is intendedto enhance the face segmentation algorithm by increasing itsrobustness to differences in images caused by various imageacquisition devices or settings or by variations in the ambientillumination conditions.
