A Rare Coronary Anomaly: One Ostium Fits All
[摘要] Coronary anomalies affect a small percentage of the generalpopulation. A solitary coronary ostium in the absence of othermajor congenital anomalies is very rare. We describe a case of apatient, admitted to our cardiology department with an acutemyocardial infarction. A coronary angiogram shows a solitaryostium originating from the right sinus of Valsalva with the leftanterior descending coronary artery (LAD) ventral to the pulmonaryartery and the circumflex artery (Cx) following its courseretroaortically. The theoretical variant of this type ofmalformation has been described but has not been reported in aclinical case before. Coronary anomalies are usually detectedduring coronary angiography, but exact course determination andrelationships are difficult to visualize. The use of cardiaccomputed tomography (CCT) allows visualization of the coronaryanatomy in a 3-dimensional image and demonstrated an added valueto coronary angiography.
