Lower-Rim Substituted Calixarenes and Their Applications

[摘要] This review discusses in detail “calixarenes” since their discovery asby-products of the phenol formaldehyde bakelites till the present scenariowherein calixarene has assumed a new dimension in the field ofsupramolecular chemistry. Extensive literature exists for calixarenes; butherein we have tried to concentrate on the different lower-rim modifiedcalixarenes with their potential applications. An attempt has also been madeto critically evaluate the synthesis procedures for different lower-rimsubstituted calixarenes.
