Ku and the Stability of the Genome

[摘要] Ku proteins are associated with a variety of cellular processessuch as repair of DNA-double-strand breaks, telomere maintenanceand retrotransposition. In recent years, we have learned a lotabout their cellular and molecular functions and it has turnedout that Ku-dependent processes affect the stability of thegenome, both positively and negatively, in several ways. Thisarticle gives an overview on the role of Ku in determining theshape of the genome.
