On the flexural and extensional thermoelastic waves in orthotropic plates with two thermal relaxation times
[摘要] Analysisfor the propagation of plane harmonic thermoelasticwaves in an infinite homogeneous orthotropic plate of finitethickness in the generalized theory of thermoelasticity with twothermal relaxation times is studied. The frequencyequations corresponding to the extensional (symmetric) andflexural (antisymmetric) thermoelastic modes of vibration areobtained and discussed. Special cases of the frequency equationsare also discussed. Numerical solutionof the frequencyequations for orthotropic plate is carried out, and thedispersion curves for the first six modes are presented for arepresentative orthotropic plate. The three motions, namely,longitudinal, transverse, and thermal, of the medium are founddispersive and coupled with each other due to the thermal andanisotropic effects. The phase velocity of the waves getsmodified due to the thermal and anisotropic effects and is alsoinfluenced by the thermal relaxation time. Relevant results ofprevious investigations are deduced as special cases.
