The Effect of Steroid Treatment on Lipocortin Immunoreactivity of Rat Brain
[摘要] Lipocortin-1, lipocortin-2 and lipocortin-5 wereimmunohistochemically assessed in rats. Apart from animals receivingno treatment, other animals received pretreatment withmethylprednisolone, or the 21-aminosteroid U-74389F. WhereasHpocortin immunoreactivity was absent in the greater part of thebrain in animals not pretreated with steroid (except in sporadicmicroglial cells and choroid plexus), there was obviousimmunostaining of parenchymatous elements in steroid pretreatedanimals. In the steroid pretreated animals lipocortinimmunoreactivity of the brain tissue may indicate local formation oflipocortin under the influence of steroids that had entered thetissue. The cellular elements which showed immunostaining includedmeningeal cells, neurones, ependyma, oligodendroglia and capillaryendotheHum.
