Endothelin-1 Production by Normal Human Cultured Keratinocytes and its Regulation

[摘要] The possibility that cultured keratinocytes produceendothelins were investigated. The results showed thatcultured keratinocytes derived from normal humanskin produce endothelin-1. Moreover, keratinocyteendothelin-1 production was completely inhibited by thepresence of actinomycin D in the medium. As in the caseof endothelial cells, recombinant interleukin-1β wascapable of promoting endothelin-1 production inkeratinocytes, whereas herapin inhibited it. Thrombinalso inhibited endothelin-1 production. These results indicatethat the mechanism of endothelin-1 production inkeratinocytes is slightly different from the mechanism invascular endothelial cells.
