Part II—Case Studies for a Synchronous Thermal Instability Operating in Overhung Rotors
[摘要] In Part I, a theoretical model was developed for a synchronousthermal instability that is caused by differentialviscous shearing in bearings of overhung rotors. This secondpart used computer programs, which were based on thetheoretical model, to examine various case studies that pertainto this thermal instability. Both plain and tilting padjournal bearing rotors were examined and good agreementwas found between the theoretical predictions and the practicalresults.
