Experimental Study of a Radial Turbine Using Pitch-ControlledGuide Vanes for Wave Power Conversion

[摘要] In order to develop a high-performance radial turbine for wavepower conversion, a radial turbine with pitch-controlled guidevanes has been proposed and manufactured in the study. Theproposed radial turbine has been investigated experimentally bymodel testing under steady and sinusoidal flow conditions. Then,the experimental results have been compared with those of theconventional radial turbine for wave power conversion, that is, aradial turbine with fixed guide vanes. As a result, the runningcharacteristics of the proposed radial turbine under steady andsinusoidal flow conditions were clarified and the effect ofdiffuser setting angle of guide vane on the turbinecharacteristics was presented. Furthermore, it seemsthat the proposed radial turbine is much superior to theconventional radial turbine.
