An Improved Integral Method for Predictionof Distorted Inlet Flow Propagation in Axial Compressor
[摘要] An improved integral method is proposed and developedfor the quantitative prediction of distorted inlet flowpropagation through axial compressor. The novel integral method isformulated using more appropriate and practical airfoilcharacteristics, with less assumptions needed forderivation. The results indicate that the original integral method(Kim et al., 1996) underestimated the propagation of inlet flowdistortion. The effects of inlet flow parameters on thepropagation of inlet distortions as well as on the compressorperformance and characteristic are simulated and analyzed. Fromthe viewpoint of compressor efficiency, the propagation of inletflow distortion is further described using a compressor criticalperformance and its associated critical characteristic. Theresults present a realistic physical insight to an axial-flowcompressor behavior with a propagation of inlet distortion.
