Parallel Information Processing in Motor Systems: Intracerebral Recordings of Readiness Potential and CNV in Human Subjects
[摘要] We performed intracerebral recordings ofReadiness Potential (RP) and Contingent NegativeVariation (CNV) with simple repetitive distal limbmovement in candidates for epilepsy surgery. In 26patients (in Paris), depth electrodes were located invarious cortical structures; in eight patients (inBrno), in the basal ganglia and the cortex. RPswere displayed in the conteral primary motorcortex, conteral somato-sensory cortex, andbilaterally in the SMA and the caudal part of theanterior cingulate cortices. CNVs were recorded inthe same cortical regiom as the RP, as well as inthe ipsilateral primary motor cortex, andbilaterally in the premotor fronto-lateral, parietalsuperior, and middle temporal regions. In the basalganglia, the RP was recorded in the putamen in sixof seven patients, and in the head of the caudatenucleus and the pallidum in the only patient withelectrodes in these recording sites. We suggest thatour results are consistent with a long-lasting,simultaneous activation of cortical and subcorticalstructures, before and during self-paced andstimulus-triggered movements. The particularregiom that are simultaneously active may bedetermined by the task context.
