Long-Term Recording of LTP in Cultured Hippocampal Slices

[摘要] Long-term potentiation (LTP) was elicitedby high frequency stimulation in hippocampalslices cultured on multi-electrode arrays. LTPlasting more than 1 h was recorded in 75% ofslices, and a significant number of slicesexhibited a non-decaying LTP that lasted morethan 48 h. LTP induction was completely andreversibly blocked by an antagonist of theNMDA receptor, APV. Our results suggest thepossibility of using chronic recording inhippocampal slices cultured on multi-electrodearrays to study the mechanisms underlyingLTP maintenance and stabilization.
