The background absorption at high latitudes

[摘要] The high latitude ionosphere is more often disturbedthan quiet, i.e. fluxes of charged particles dominateover solar controlled ionisation. Nonetheless, the actualamount of the predictable, solar-controlled ionisation and theresulting absorption is of interest for some applications.
